Who wouldn't love to drive around in a shiny, like-new car every day? Depending on your needs and budget, a paint job can be a little spectacular and temporary, or it can be done by professionals and be long-lasting, extremely attractive and safe. But what tricks are there? What are the pitfalls to look out for if your car is ripe for a polish?

The basics of paintwork repair

Before anyone starts to polish their car at home or even considers getting it shined again at home or by a professional, it's worth knowing a bit about the car's construction and those darn scratches. We're not going to go into the engine and all the complicated technical stuff, we're just going to delve a little deeper into the layers on the bodywork.

In all cases, the first step is to thoroughly wash the car and then dry it without dripping. This is when small or deep damage that needs repair becomes visible.

To make things a little clearer, get to know the layers of the car's paintwork! First, a primer coat is applied to the raw metal. This is followed by a top coat, then a clear coat for metallic gloss cars.

And here comes the point! To repair the paintwork, you need to be able to determine which layer is affected by the scratch!

There are basically two types of refinishing repairs:

  • the polishing and polishing
  • deep polishing.

The difference between the two is that with polishing we remove dirt (e.g. bird droppings, insects, tar drops) that can withstand a thorough car wash, and we also remove scratches that are not deep. A deep polishing but even very deep, spectacular scratches are covered.

Pitfalls of paintwork repair

Many people come to us because they have tried to repair the polish themselves or, although they have contacted a service provider, they have not been properly prepared.

There are a number of disadvantages to home polish repairs:

  • This is a a multi-hour task, you not only have to take into account the time needed for the polishing itself, but also the time needed for the research and the purchase of the necessary tools and materials.
  • It makes a difference what tools and materials you buy. Know the difference between premium quality and poor quality materials, and this is not always reflected in the price.
  • Although it may seem simple to an outside observer, it is very easy to spoil the paintwork is repaired, leaving your car stained and even with scratches.
  • If for polishing also gives its head, requires great careso as not to cause more damage.

If you are not a professional when it comes to polish repair, you can expect the following results:

  • the varnish is not durable,
  • the light is not uniform,
  • the car becomes holographic,
  • scratches were left, and even new scratches may have been made.

But then how can you do it right?

The process of polish repair

The entire process of car paint repair generally takes 5-6 hours and 10-12 hours for deep polishing even if it is carried out by professionals with years of experience.

This is what a real polish repair, including deep scratches, looks like:

  • As already mentioned, the first step in the paintwork repair a thorough wash of the car.
  • After that, a coarse-grained polishing paste and a coarser sponge disc treat the surface. This will remove deep scratches.
  • Then for medium paste and sponge to refine the treated surface.
  • The original shine of the car is a with extra soft granular paste and disc give it back.
  • Here we have a nice result, but we are not done yet! The car waxoljuk, so you also get an extra layer of protection. This will create a shinier, water-repellent surface.

But the line doesn't end here! A nanotechnology ceramic coating a technology that gives your car an even harder coating than natural diamonds. The result is a high-gloss, glossy, scratch-resistant and water-repellent coating that increases the value of your car.

So the paint repair is not a simple task and requires professional tools, materials and routine. If you add up the time and cost of research, the time and cost of buying the tools and doing the polish repair, you can see that working at home is not so cheap, in fact... Of course, it is effective for a while, but durable, beautiful and safe results can only be achieved by professionals.
